Thanks Kids Cornwall! We had a brilliant time windsurfing at Polkerris followed by great lunch at Sam’s on the Beach. We would never have known about Polkerris if it wasn’t for the book.
Crealy have a new rollercoaster this year. Its the first rollercoast my 5 year old has ever been on and we had to go round 6 times. Great for children under 12!
We tried out the excellent Kids Trail at The Lost Gardens of Heligan on a cloudy day. It was really really good, kept four kids quiet whilst we enjoyed the magical gardens.
Have taken the kids this week to Mount Hawke skate park an indoor place for scooters, bmx bikes and skate boards, lots of ramps and loads of fun for the children. Entrance fee for the day or cheaper after 4pm, bikes only on Thursdays after 4pm. Cafe on site, follow signs from Chiverton roundabout to st. Agnes then to Mount Hawke. My son (11) loved it.
A treat for your children and all the family is FLO RIDER at Retallick resort by St.Columb. THis is the only one in cornwall, I booked a session for my son and friend, we turned up and they got in wetsuits, had superb instructions of what they were going to do and demonstrations of using the flo rider.
It is an artificial surf slope, the water comes out at the bottom and pushes you up and keeps you on the slope. THe boys were taught to use body boards doing tricks and turns and forward rolls, then had half an hour tuition on boards, learning how to stand up. There was a hot tub at the bottom that they could get into when cold but they were constantly on the go. Comments from the boys were “it’s the best” The session is for an hour and there is a cafe and shop there as well.
It is costly but worth it as a treat and you want to surf. If a local, the rate is slightly cheaper. THey have a website and you can phone the resort which offers holidays in there lodges with activities and surfing holidays.
We will be going back.
